I hope that having not kept in contact with the school all these years, 40 years and counting (though I do recall a couple of visits) will not be a show stopper as far as my feelings towards the alma mater because like Ashok, I too went to Mar Ivanios college but have no particular desire to visit the college. Thanks for the post, as always well written and it reminded me that I should visit Loyola especially since this blog has triggered memories of days gone by.... I hope to visit Loyola when I’m in Trivandrum within the next few months. Every time I visit TVM, I feel a sense of emptiness if I do not go to school and show my face. As soon as you enter those gates, you are almost instantly reminded of those good old days. Even more, despite so many things around the school having changed, the warmth that you sense is still the same. This time around, I plan to take our little daughter to visit the school when I am there. Well said Ashok.
